Good conscience brings peace ...
” having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck.” 1 Timóteo 1.19
Whoever wants to establish himself in the faith has to maintain a good conscience. For that, it is necessary to sacrifice impulses, passions and interests that have nothing to do with God. Mistake generates bad conscience. Bad conscience generates accusation. The accusation generates doubt. Doubt neutralizes faith. .Hence to shipwreck, it is a matter of time
Whoever decides to give up what causes bad conscience, is filled with certainty. It's immediate.
Good conscience brings peace.
The peace of the salvation of the soul. A clear conscience guarantees peace that surpasses all understanding.
The peace that allows us a peaceful sleep.
The peace that helps us to go through deserts and storms.
However, it is necessary to strive to maintain it, as the apostle Paul did:
“This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.” Atos 24.16
